I have an OCTA PLUS ludwig vistalite candy cane stripe set from 1975 it's a double bass model and I would like to find out how many of these sets were made....I bought it as a complete set back in 1975......anyone have any information about these I would appreciate it....not interested in selling it just would like some info about them....thanks to all for any help

I'm pretty sure there are no records of how many of a particular type of set or color were actually made. Ludwig never kept records of that...If you don't see a lot of them like that used, odds are there weren't that many made.

okay I will get a pic up here I can tell you that the white stripe is not clear stripe but actually white and can not be seen thru... I've seen others where the white stripe is clear....

I have a red/white pattern C kit I purchased new as a five piece back in the 70's when I was about 15 and added on four concert toms, 8", 10", 14", 15". Still looks great and have not seen one in person yet. The white is more of a translucent milk white, not clear. I believe this pattern and color scheme was used on a vistalite booklet around 1976 or so showing the bass drum. As soon as I make some room I will set it up ans post some photos.
