I have a '62 Ludwig set with a rail consolette and the mount where the tab on the consolette goes into a slot on the tom.Sometimes I would just like to mount the tom on a clamp on a cymbal stand for ease and flexibility of positioning. Is there a way to do this? Has someone ever made an adapter? I guess it would have the tab on one end and a receptacle for a rod on the other. Thanks for any ideas - John
You don't have to change a thing, try this!!
Take the top part of the consolette that has the "tab" and put it in a multi clamp. That would give you plenty of movement to position it where you would want it and you wouldn't have to change a thing and it would be easy to put it back should you hate it.
I'm assuming the "tab" part looks like the one in this pic sort of??

The multi clamp looks like this, this is made by Pearl, but I'm sure there are others:

Just clamp one end to the stand and put the small arm with the "tab" in the other, swivel it around 'till you get it where you want it. You might have to figure out which end to put the blade into depending on the angle you need.
