Hi Hobbs!

Yes, I think this was a custom order and not Tequila Sunrise. As to the depth, it's referred to as a 6.5", but as you noted, the depth is just a bit deeper. Just one of those manufacturing differences! Hope this helps.

I took another look at your snare and noticed that the lugs are not centered with that middle section. Makes me wonder about this being original. Not really sure if Ludwig would have been so careless. HOWEVER...the fact that the shell is 1/4" deeper may have something to do with this. The drilling machine was set up assuming the depth was 6.5". An odd drum!

Is it possible to have been cut down

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

What does the seam, join, look like? That will give you an indication if factory or not.
