I have a chance to buy a B/O 5x14 Ludwig Supersensitive metal snare drum. It has about a dozen small flakes on the shell. The strainer mechanism seems to work fine. The guy is asking $200. Is this a fair/good price? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Jerry.
Ludwig supersensitive snare
It's not a bad price but not a steal either. most ludaloy shelled ones in VGC go in the $300,00 range try to get him down if possible.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
You will probably do better as a player snare to get a Supra-400...those SSs are finicky to tune...

I have one of each, and i would preffer the Supra, because every time i use my SS i have to fool with it and its a pain in the a$$. but a SS is a pretty cool Snare to own. i am happy owner of a SS and i would never sell it. . .unless. . . , even though i dont use it a lot i still like it.
I've got a new SS, with the box, I'll sell for $300 if you pay shipping. I pulled it out & took a few pics, played it for a few minutes & put it back in the box. Same size & alloy, has Monroe Keystone badge.

I went to look at and probably buy the drum last night. I didn't buy it. I want to thank everyone that gave me feedback. The drum had alot of problems & missing parts. I've learned alot since joining this forum. Thanks again. Jerry.
