Ludwig Super Classic 1971 Rubber Feet

Loading...

Hi,

Having a look at the photo here:

http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_sets/super_classic/ludwig_super_classic_71.jpg

I can't really tell if the rubber feet on all the flat based stands are pretty much the same type as on the floor tom. Also, I can't see the rubber feet on the bass drum spurs at all. Anyone have a photo of a kit like this with the proper rubber feet on all the appropriate parts?

Yes, all of the rubber feet are the same, which is convenient, but annoying. On the floor tom legs, they're great. On the flat-based stands, they get stretched a bit and eventually crack (every stand I've bought had at least one of them missing). On the bass drum spurs from this era, the spur itself has a sharp point on it, which will eventually work its way through the rubber and split the foot as well.

Does anyone know where to buy these, by the way? Is there some generic bag of them I can buy at the local home improvement store or something? Online source?

Every example of flat-based hardware from the 60s/early 70s that I've played on had the same feet as the floor tom legs and the bass drum spurs. The later thicker curved spurs and the mid-late 70s flat-based stands (with the blue-olive stickers) had the rubber feet with slotted holes, but before that, it was the round rubber feet, simply slipped on the stands (which caused them to crack and split over time). I'm just basing this off of the many examples that I've seen.

There are some folk selling rubber feet on eBay, and some online stores I've come across via web sites. They sometimes look slightly different though. I 'think' this might be the right ones?!

Just wasn't sure if they went on 'everything' or if some bits had slightly different feet.

Just found these 'Cannon small rubber stand tips' online. Anybody using these on vintage ludwig stands etc?
