Ludwig Stands

Loading...

A buddy gave these to me a while back. I polished them up the best I could get them. I love these stands for the fact they don't take up as much room as big bulky stands.

My question is, what are these called?

These have the 70's logo on them. One is missing the tip. I would like to replace that so I have 3 good ones. The 4th is missing its whole top half. Anyone need a bottom? PM me if so.

Thanks

Curtis

Those are the 1400 series, which were made from the '50s through the '80s (imagine those with the big black knobs!) On my main local gigging kit, I use 1400 snare and cymbal stands because of the space savings. 3 stands, snare stand, and throne and hihat (plus tom mount, sticks, etc) fit nicely in the top tray of a standard trap case.

Those are Ludwig model 1400 cymbal stands, everybody I know calls 'em ''fourteen hundred's''. They're my favorite stands, and the are famously known to be used by Ringo http://www.ringosbeatlekits.com/home

EDIT:

Sorry bermuda didn't see your post in time, if I would've seen it I would've let this thread be.

Yeah they fold up small and take up little space! Awesome stands!

Anyone have that tip I am looking for? I put some good pics in the wanted to buy section.

They are still listed in the Ludwig spare parts catalog.

http://www.ludwig-drums.com/pdf/av1453.pdf

see page 10 of the PDF. part number P-1722-B is for the top part of the tilter. drumsonsale.com usually has all of the Ludwig parts listed on their site but this one is not. You might be able to get a Ludwig dealer to order one for you or you could contact Ludwig directly and ask for a dealer who can order it for you.
