Ludwig Standards with Resocoat and date stamps?

Loading...

Greetings,

Found these on Cragislist. Seller wants $850. Pretty steep in my opinion, especially since they have no bottom heads OR LUGS!

Anyway, those don't look like Granitone interiors to me. It sure looks like Resocoat with a date stamp in the bass drum, doesn't it?

I know that Ludwig sometimes used "Classic" lugs on a "Standard" shell, but I don't believe I have ever seen a "Standard" shell without a Granitone interior.

Also, didn't Ludwig use the "Classic" 3 ply shells with these that they used on their "regular" drums, just with different lugs and a Granitone interior??

Early Standards had white resocoat interiors. At least the first few months of production.

The price of these standards have jumped up a decent chunk as more desirable sets such as: downbeats, super classics and club dates have been harder and harder to find.

I would swoop them up if you can get them for a price you feel is fair. I agree the price seems steep considering the missing hardware.

Looks like there are hoops on the desk behind, possibly the rest is in there somewhere, missing a spur maybe the bottom of the bass is pretty scratched up?, nice wrap though, cool they are resocoat, comes with the stands and Hi hat, and some kind of pedal ?

IMO, it's not worth half of what they are asking, considering the shape it's in with the scratches I see and the missing parts.

Appears to be Bronze Strata, which is one of the harder Strata finishes to find.

Actually that looks to me like it could easily be Granitone.

Agree the price is steep.
