Ludwig Standard

I may be picking up this Ludwig Standard kit in a red astro finish. The only real issue is the gull type legs were added and the holes for original legs have been plugged.

Nice drums. If you can get them at a good price, grab 'em. And, for God's sake, please use the original tom holder.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

There's a guy who wants to trade this kit for my Sonor. The tom arm has gone missing, should be easy enough to find one. I love Ludwig, the sizes and the finish.

That's a cool standard set in the most desirable sizes. The new spurs are a bit of a bummer from the collectible standpoint but no doubt an improvement as far as real world gigging. The tom holder arms are out there but it's relatively easy to create one if need be ( one that will work better than the original). Standards shared the same shells as other Ludwigs of the era so that is essentially a "Downbeat" set in a cool and unique wrap.

They're nice kits. The only problem with them is they are not Rogers. LoLoLoLo

I had one a few years back in the much more common blue strata. I like the astro finishes better. I'd do that trade, but are you sure you're going to be comfortable with the smaller sizes? I've thought of you as being more of a 22, 13, 16 sizes player.
