The very first nice kit I ever played as a kid was a set of Ruby Strata Standards....beautiful drums. The hardware wasn't great...unique, simple.... but not great. That's not the Standard hardware in the pic, though. If it was complete with all the hardware, I'd be tempted to buy them. They appear to be in great shape. I can't tell what Strata finish it is....maybe Avocado Strata? Maybe faded Ruby Strata? IDK.

I would advise you to go for it. I had a set of Ruby Strata Ludwig Standards for a couple of years. Since I'm not Ludwig fan, I picked them up to use as trade bait. I actually liked this drum set much more than any Ludwig drum set I've ever played.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Yeah, with the snare drum and everything looking as good as it does, I'd probably pull the trigger on that one.

looks like it's in pretty good shape. the standards are goods drums except for the hardware is a bit on the cheezy side.

mho, 700$ is a good price if you plan to keep them and play them, but not a good price if you are planning on selling them coz it will be hard to get a higher price from them. just my thoughts.

Prices for the Standard series have really skyrocketed, with asking prices on par with those of the Classic series! The wood-shell Standard snare drum has been considered the "poor man's" Jazz Festival. The snare drum alone can go for $400+ now! So, yeah, go for it!

The Standard wraps have always been interesting...I`ve always liked the different patterns that line offered...

As idrum4fun states, go for it!!

Cheers

Standards (Strata wraps in particular) are not a poor mans version of anything! They Rock. I would not trade my avocado kit for anything.

Stop stringing and tuning your instrument, make music now.

I have to say that toast and avocado is very popular in other upscale markets as well. Walking
