Ludwig snare info help

Loading...

I have a Ludwig snare dated August 25, 1970. The shell appears to be aluminum, but I'm not sure. It's not shiny like chrome, more of a matte finish. The shell measures 5 X 14. I would like to know what model it is. Someone told me it might be an Acrolite. Also what it might be worth. Thanks.

Yep, Acrolite $100 - $150 depending on the year and conditon.

Some are worth more, like the earlier ones and or prototypes.

You can sometimes find a BIN (Buy It Now) on Ebay for under $100

Own one myself. 1974 bought for $125 in pristine shape. Had another that I bought for $60 that was bit rough. Sold it for $100. Out of my four snares, it is the only one I use on a regular basis.

Agreed, its a great snare, best snare for the money out there. It is my main metal snare. Also agree with pricing stated. Its all about condition. Keystone badge goes for more.
