Ludwig Snare - Help needed for identification please

Loading...

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to the forum. I own this snare drum and would be grateful if you could help me identify and value it.

I believe that this is a Ludwig snare drum. The strainer seems to be a P85 all chrome and there is no badge on the snare.

I have gone through vintage Ludwig catalogs and could find a similar strainer, but couldn't find similar lugs nor shells with 5 stripes on the side.

There are 8 lugs.

Let me know if there is any other information that could be helpful in identifying this snare.

Thanks a lot,

Thomas

Hello Thomas...and Welcome to the forum!

What you have is a generic steel-shell snare drum with Pearl lugs and a replacement Ludwig strainer. I would guess the drum is from around the 80's or so and made in Taiwan. Not a lot of value with this drum, but if it sounds good to you, that's all that matters!
