Ludwig serial question

Hi. There's a Ludwig snare on ebay with this serial: 5003180

Having consulted Ludwig serial info on the site, it only covers six figures.

Either it's a typo, or quite a late snare. Thing is, it looks vintage with an old throw and lugs. It's starting at £29.99. Any ideas?

Those are Ludwig Standard / Rocker lugs. That narrows it down a bit. Standards were made from late 68 to early 71. That was not a finish from this period. Late Standards and early Rockers were about 84 to 93. ...Give or take a year or two on these...

After these years they used different lugs.

It almost looks like someone painted over the chrome shell of a steel snare. Hard to tell from the pic.

A pic of the badge would help, but I'm guessing Rocker series late 80's

Thanks for the input. Have asked seller to provide a badge shot and about snare material, but no answer as yet. Supposing it's an 80's snare and made of wood, any idea of a fair price? It's hardly a classic, but may be decent.
