Hey, guys! The big ol' snare arrived early this morning. The seller described it perfectly. It is mint! I've been tinkering all day. Mark was right. There was some buzz and "clank", but no longer. I switched snare wires for Puresound Equalizers, changed the batter head to an Evan's Red Hydraulic and installed a snareweight M-80 muffler on the batter head. There was no internal muffler. The seller had informed me of this. An honest mistake in the original description. This drum now has a deep throaty snare sound ideal for the rock I play. I don't think it would be great for lighter jazz, but so far, I can't be happier!

Hey, Mark and Rod!

This snare is getting better by the day! Evans red hydraulic batter head, two M-80's by snareweight for dampening, brass plated rims, brass t-rods, red Hendrix sleeve washers, now with a thirty strand set of Puresound wires, a red snare ribbon by Snareflair and soon to be arriving an Evans 500 snare side head! I play basic rock and this drum rocks! For certain tunes, I actually prefer it over my seventies Supra! Just wanted to thank you for the input and keep you informed.
