Ludwig Rocker II Maybe???

Loading...

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site and forum but a long time drummer. I am currently working at an international school in Saudi Arabia and came across a drum set that was going to be thrown out. The snare is not pictured and has different badges. I am interested in overhauling it, but I wanted to get a feel for what it is before I put any money into it. It will also be helpful to know what it is to know which parts to look for.

I have included some pictures. Hopefully it will help to identify it.

Thanks for your time!!

This should help you:

http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/ludwig_rockers.html

Looks like what you have there is a late '90's Accent kit. Check this catalog page:

If the problem is that you're missing components from the tom mount system, any cheap Pearl clones should work.

Fix em' up and get your grunge on!

Welcome!

I am no expert but I think think Rocker 2's had the granitone interior finish and the cheeper bass drum spurs that slide into the drum for transporting. I would say yours are Rockers and worth restoring. I have a set and they are nice sounding drums to me.

Thank you!

Take a close look at the bagde. It's the Black and White, but it's missing the USA. :(

These are not the Rockers you are looking for. They were made overseas. The mounts are Pearl style too (bass drum spurs, tom mount, floor tom legs).

I would pass.

It's in the links I posted to the Vintage Drum Guide. Not that anyone followed the links, apparently. I guess I still have New Forum Person Invisibility. CryBaby

(I'm about a month away from my 1st year anniversary; I wonder if it will persist beyond that)

Since you're getting them for free, I'd say it's worth the $50 (or less) in parts you're likely to need. Don't go nuts on them; they are indeed of Asian make.

A fun project, not likely profitable unless drum kits are scarce in your area.

These aren't great, and not USA made, but for free... why look a gift drum in the vents?

It ain't you it's the site; relatively low traffic, specific agendas....some folks don't seem to make a habit of reading the whole thread beofre posting...oh well. Don't take it personally...y'know, like how I do. :)

Tim (and the others) are right, no USA on the badge. I didnt even think about that. Just goes to show, I should not even chime in on stuff like this.

Thank you!

Oh yes you should, Jeff...

You and I both know your input is valued and sought out in a number of areas... you're learning something new. Heck, we're all learning. That's what we're doing here - sharing information.
