Ludwig P80 Throw-off

Loading...

Can anyone tell me the mounting hole spacing (center to center) for a Ludwig P80 throw-off and if it would fit on a Ludwig with the center rib like a Supra, or more specifically, a 1920s two piece NOB shell?

Thanks

The correct throw for a 20s 2 piece is P338. Very hard to find.

I know...that's why I want to substitute a P80. FYI-I'm not putting it on a "collectable" snare (i.e., it already has other modifications).

I'm having the same problem searching for a 338, let alone an equivalent.

p84s as seen on 4x14 Downbeat snares with an OUTWARD flanged screw plate WILL retro-fit a 1920s NOB snare!

p84s as seen on 3x13 Jazz Combos with an INWARD flanged screw plate will not retro-fit a 1920s NOB snare.

p80s have an inward flange to suit their current 3x13 BBs and 3.5x14 piccolos. Strange that they've never offered a 4x14 piccolo size since ending production of Downbeats in the 70s. It's so much more versatile. I use my Downbeat all the time.

The Gibraltar piccolo throw is a cheaper p80 copy. Also inward flanged.

Still searching...
