Hi! Was wondering if Ludwig ever made a P-83 strainer with a Pioneer strainer throw arm? Recently came across one on a pre-serial snare, and have never seen one. My guess is it was changed out previously, but not sure. Knew I could get the correct answer in here......Thanks!

At work currently, but yesterday happened to notice that the 61 Pioneer on the top of the forum (image's), there is one on that snare also! This is also a pre-serial, so I am guessing they possibly did that at some point.

Pretty sure that's a that's a P-85 large Pioneer strainer. It came out for a couple years in the early '60's. Cool-looking strainer...marko

BTW, I thought the P-85 was the blackfaced 70's model? Could be wrong though.

it confuses a lot of people. there was indeed a p85 that was out years before the 70's p85 surfaced.
