Ludwig Mach Lugs - do they deaden the drum?

Loading...

I am still on the lookout for some quality Ludwigs with the long “Mach” lugs. I know many of you can’t look at them without bile rising into your throat, but for some reason, I really like the look.

But a new question formed in my ever so feeble mind: do the lugs have a deadening effect on the drums? I like my toms to have a little resonance.

Does anyone have any firsthand experience they can speak from?

Thank you.

Josh

I've got a bucket of them...Free to somebody that will pick them up. They are far to heavy to send via mail, and I'm too busy to package them.

Josh, I've had two mach lug kits, I love them, the answer is No they don't hinder the resonance of the shell. Bu they sure make a kit heavy to tote around .

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
