Just found a 79 Ludwig drum set. Bass drum is an 18", rack tom 10", and 13" floor tom. He says they have been refinished. He wants $500 for them, is this a deal even if they have been refinished?
Ludwig Jazzette?
The '79 Jazzette was a 14X20, 8X12 & 14X14. Furthermore, a 10" rack & 13" ? (what are the overall dimensions ? ) floor tom isn't that great of a set. Even the original Jazzette (c.1966-74) was a 12X18, 8X12, 14X14.
Never knew Ludwing to offer a set in those sizes, might be a special order. If you like the sound and need the set I'd think $500.00 isn't out of line.
I think BD was converted from a 18" floor tom.
Odd tom sizes as well.
This is a pieced together Frankenkit. I like the ingenuity, but it's not close to being worth $500. What are the real dimensions of these drums ? That rack tom system looks like it's destined to bend, or tip over the bass from being top heavy (the tom would probably be better on a snare stand).
Frankenkit is right! That doesn't even look like an 18" drum to me.

I'm with those who think the kick is a floor tom conversion - still has leg mounts on it. To me, it also looks cut down. I'd sure want to take a look inside these drums before plunking any cash down. Even as a pure fun kit, personally I'd offer way less than $500.

Nice little kit for the right drummer,I would treat it price wise as modded player, and try and buy it for what you think you could sell it for.
