Ludwig jazz festival

I attach photos of the wrap, hoping they are clear.

The wrap condition looks appropriate for a drum from that period and general condition. My son has a Ludwig WMP Jazz Fest built earlier than 1965 which he purchased from forum member BEC a few years ago. The wrap on that drum is in at least as good or better condition than on your drum.

Until sometime in the late 60's Ludwig glued the wrap to flat shell material before being formed into a drum shell. The wrap was scarfed into the shell where the overlapped edges were joined.

Thanks for the reply. So it's possible that the wrap is original...

It's more likely than not the original wrap by like 99.9 to .1 as I stated earlier, the effort and skill required to replace all of the wrap into the scarf joint is not worth it when re-wrapping a drum. Especially with a very common pattern

It is much more then possible. Given that the scarf of the wrap into the shell is still attached it is virtually 100% certain to be the original wrap..

Yes, as already stated, that wrap is consistent with the style Ludwig was using. Looks to be in very nice shape, too!
