frantic freddie: As long as they aren't broken, everything is ok, I guess. It was kind of funny, though, to discover that all lugs on my drum were of the springless, new variety - except for the three broken ones...

I suspect that my drum has had a pretty "violent" previous owner sometime down the line. There is a big dent in the flange of the batterside rim, and I cannot for the life of me figure out the how and why for it.
