This chart was derived from a stamp date inside of the drum.Hense why the numbers are exact matched to the date.

Ludwig 1960?s Serial Number Time Chart #2

DATE

SERIAL NUMBER

1960 to late 1963 no serial numbers used

1964-0 ? 133,000

1965-133,000 ? 266,000

1966-266,000 ? 399,000

1967-399,000 ? 532,000

1968-532,000 ? 665,000

1969-665,000 ? 798,000*

That chart is the basic of what the numbers should be.The key thing is that when the badge boxes were re-filled there was always a few remainders at the bottom. So its not 100% accurate for every drum. And unless you have a stamp date its best estimate. And while every drum had a stamp date...one cleaning of the interior would fix it so that the stamp date went bye bye forever. There is a whole article on this and where I got the charts from at http://www.vintagedrum.com/ludwig_serials.htm . Its a very good source for Luwdwig information as this site is good for Slingerland information.

Judging from the lower serial numbers you have...your kit is from 64-65.Hope this helps.
