Ludwig Hi-hat Stand Model???

I just picked this Ludwig Hi-Hat Stand up at a Buy & sell store. I'm amazed at how good of shape it's in. Everything is intact and it's complete. The only thing I think it's missing is the wing-nut that goes on the bottom of the hi-hat clutch, unless this model didn't come with that.

My question is What model is this stand. It's either late 60's or early 70's but I don't know the model??

How much is this stand worth in it's present condition??

I was going to polish it up with some polish. Is it safe to use a metal polish on the foot board???

Anything else I need to do to it????

This is one of Ludwig's most popular hi hat stands ever! It's the model 1123-1. Most refer to it as the Spur-lok, but than only refers to the foot board with the built-in fold down spur. By the early 70's, Ludwig offered their "Classic" line of hardware, which included the 1123-1 hi hat and the famous 1400 cymbal stand.

Your stand is very clean! Given that everything is original, including the clutch and memory lock, I can see this stand going for well over $100! To me, condition and completeness is everything! Also, not sure exactly when Ludwig used the block logo for these stands, but definitely in the 70's!

Thanks for the info Mark. I was wondering about block logo too. I just looked under the heel part and there is no built-in fold down spur. So I guess it's not 100% complete.

Now is the Clutch suppose to have the large wing-nut???

Yes, it does effect value...BUT...your hat is still incredibly clean and 99% complete. Only speaking for myself, I don't think I've ever used the Spur-Lok feature. Wouldn't be that difficult to find a used foot board to obtain this part.

The large wingnut on the clutch is original Ludwig! I'm not quite sure about the lower round screws, though. Still, that wouldn't put me off to your stand!

I found a foot board on ebay that has the spur-loc in it. Might be worth picking up. The wing-nut I was talking about was the one that goes on the bottom of the clutch on the threaded part under the top Hi-Hat. Did these stand originally come with it???

I got the spur-loc foot board that was on ebay. Hopefully I can install the spur-loc to the foot board on this stand. How would I do that Mark?? Does that Pin holding it in come out.???

Just swap the footboards.

Just swap the footboards.

I thought about that too but this stand is in such good shape I don't want to risk damaging it.
