Hey, I saw a pic of this drum on Reverb and was wondering if anyone knew anything about Ludwig or WFL at any point in their history using gold painted bass hoops. The grommet on the badge also isn't what I'd expect.
Is this just a drum cobbled together?
I can't say for sure on the hoops. I've seen some painted hoops that matched the color of the drum before that were factory original. Some of the early WFL badges used a larger, thicker grommet that has almost a zinc finish to it. I do see the badge is crooked on this drum however. So I too would inspect it closely.
