Ludwig Epic X-Over Striped~ 3 Ply?!?

Are my eyes deceiving me or are these new Ludwig drums 3 plies w/ rerings? Any one know anything about these new epic X over striped drums? here are some links.. if they are 3 ply then they are way cheaper than Legacys. These striped ones also come in classic sizes!

They are a 3ply drum with rerings, but NOT like the traditional ludwig formula. They are made overseas and are made from walnut and poplar with birch rerings. The Legacy drums are made in Monroe NC and are maple poplar maple with maple rerings, just like in the old days.....
