Thanks, but I think it was more a temporary deal with my mobile device and this site...the pics are under the max size allowed here. Anyway, here was my Saturday project...took this 46 year old lady, trued and re-cut edges, cleaned, drilled for bottom lugs, wrapped, and shined up all her chrome. Just for comparison, this is Jammin' Sam's silver sparkle, shown with my '66 bass with original wrap. I'm sure that the sharp eyes here will notice the non-original tom mount (prior owner), and the hoop inlays are actually...don't hate...just sparkle tape from Walmart! :p

Did you notice there is a difference in the top and bottom small lugs. I noticed the later 70's/80's lugs are fatter/wider.

No, I did NOT notice that! But I'm really pretty new to the drum collecting world. I did remember seeing a discussion here on the large classic lugs and thickness differences over the years, but never recalled seeing one on the small classics. The gentleman I bought them from advertised them as "small classic lugs will fit 1960's and 1970's 3 ply shells". Thanks for pointing it out, learned something new today! :)

No biggie though, unless you're OCD. ;)

Looks good.

Just curious, is your grommet the screw on type from Jammin Sams?

Nice little project! You did a nice job, I would have missed the lug difference. Nice thin is you can find a set of lugs to match and the holes will still work.

Thank you!

Thank you all for your input and kind remarks! And yes, the grommet was a screw in from Sam. It was the only part of the process I was not really totally pleased with, as the wrap itself looked fantastic. I was told the grommet would fit the old shells and badges with no problem. But it was actually a tad large for the hole in the badge and shell. Honestly, it was not much larger, and I just took a screwdriver with some sandpaper on it to make the hole a little larger to accommodate the grommet barrel. Had the grommet barrel fit, it would have been SO easy to install though, and it is also easy to remove if I ever want to re-wrap to something else. So I can't give totally negative feedback on the idea...it just didn't fit as easy as I thought it would.
