Ludwig COB snare value

Loading...

Just wondering if anyone can tell me the current market value on an early '60s Ludwig pre-serial COB "Super". Red BB muffler, crimped beds, seamed brass shell, curved-in edge flanges, brass rims.

Shell is excellent. Some rust pits on the rims, but nothing out of the ordinary. One slight dent in one of the snare gates, easily banged out with a rubber mallet.

Drum is in completely original condition with original snare wires.

Anyone know an approximate value?

I am interested in selling.

Thanks a lot,

Charles

eBay: In October '08, one sold for $965. Another one in the same month sold for $675 - the slide had begun. One with a few issues went for $500 more recently. The vintage drum store lists them for $1000 - but I guess that's what they were worth, in mint condition. The Luddalloy ones seem to be going through a period of interest right now.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

Already found a buyer, but I appreciate the offer. I'm actually looking for a late-model 402.
