Ludwig Club Date

Loading...

Hey guys, I have the opportunity to buy this Ludwig Club Date kit in a wmp finish. It's missing the floor, but has a Pioneer snare, cymbal L-arm and snare stand. The seller was asking a grand, but will take $900, is this a good deal?

I know it would take awhile to find a matching floor at a decent price.

Thanks.

Nevermind, I just saw 14x14 Club Date floor toms selling for over $500 and they weren't even wmp. It would probably take a long time to find a wmp floor for a decent price.

Great drums but that is a little strong in my opinion. Club Date floor toms often bring a premium. And then you have to worry about getting the right wrap fade.

I would agree with Mike, without that floor tom the price is a bit rich.

Don't do it, you don't have the patience. Plus you find great deals every week.

Thank you!

If you had the matching floor tom, then it would be a kit that you could trade-up on in the future, and fully enjoy, in the meantime. I love that buttery yellowed look, myself, but it would really be hard to match up the proper floor tom. I don't think you'd ever find one -at least in the near future.

I concur with the others....Pass.

I actually sold my Premier gold sparkle kit and thought maybe I'd jump on the Ludwig, but you guys are right, it would be too pricey and difficult to find a matching floor. I saw this other Premier kit in an aqua sparkle finish that I thinks looks cool, it has a 12,16,20, I can get it for much less than Ludwig. I wish it didn't have the modern tom mount on the kick, but hey, it's better than those modern kick legs that was on the gold sparkle kit.

JR, those are my favorite finish for the Premiers. They usually have a lot of that splotch look but that one has a minimum of it. Beauties.

Why did some of the English and German drum manufacturers use that nasty "sparkle" wrap that developed a sandpaper texture as the drums aged? One of the world's foremost manufacturers of sparkle wrap material was right in their backyard in Italy. And, for the past 50 years, Delmar has made great wrap for the major drum brands right here in New England. But, instead, some great English and German drums used the crappy wrap that the Asian firewood drum makers used.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
