Is that a “dead ringer “ on the bass?

Had that same combo, dead ringer with a pinstripe on a 20” Slingerland back in the early 80’s and it was a killer sound!

That’s a very nice kit, good luck with your sale!

Gorgeous kit at a reasonable price IMHO.

Now on my favourite topic of lens aberration, look what it did to the tom in this pic. Not a criticism in any way, just a heads-up if you ever see anything that looks off, consider it could be the camera lens, lying yet again. :)

I believe when that picture was taken the head and rim were just placed on tom with no tensioning. Hence the optical illusion.

I believe when that picture was taken the head and rim were just placed on tom with no tensioning. Hence the optical illusion.

That could certainly be the cause, in this and other instances. However, there looks to be about the same amount of thread showing on each rod, in each pic of the tom [believe it or not I saved the 1st pic to desktop and measured it lol], and the top of each rod looks to be tight[ish] against the rim, so in this case if had to choose, I'd bet on aberration.

The solution, if anyone cares, is to increase distance between "film plane" [camera] and subject, and then zoom in to fill the frame. Then you're using the center of the lens where aberration is less of an issue. Honestly I think most people have a sense of this phenomenon, but I mention it [endlessly] just in case. :)

Either way, we're keeping your post top of the heap....:)

Gorgeous kit.
