Ludwig Club Date Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Not sure how appropriate this is but I can't contain my euphoria. After 47 years I finally got my 1965 (born on 8/10/65) Ludwig Club Date Gold Sparkle kit back. Well not exactly but.......... In 1965 I ordered from my local music store (now closed) a new Ludwig Club Date kit. I played in a rock and roll band (The Rubber Band) throughout high school and reluctantly sold them in 1969 to purchase an engagement ring. The marriage continues to endure but I've longed to get that drum set back. I searched everywhere and called every music guy I knew. Finally gave them up for lost. For ten years I've looked at every forum, eBay, craigslist, classified looking for a decent facsimile from 1965. After pawing over countless faded, rusted mostly junk I finally found an absolutely pristine, unmolested, perfect chrome , perfect wrap complete perfect everything. Born on December 5,1965. I couldn't buy it fast enough. As it currently sits in my living room I can't possibly contain myself. At 66 I know I need to get a life but old forum drummers will understand, I hope.

Congratulations on the successful hunt!

I'm only 30 and I completely understand where you are coming from. By the way, my wife call us "forum" guys "drum-dorks".

I guess that's how the outside world sees us?

Oh yeah.... Photos please!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
