I just bought this today for $40. I love the snare. Absolutely love the crack sound. I don;t care what its worth. It will be my main snare. I can't wait to clean it up and use it.

Some will call it trash...its a treasure to me.

My research has narrowed it down to either a Buddy Rich Super Classic (mid 1950s) or a Symphonic from 5/10 years later in 1960s. Can anyone shed light on this? I am thrown off my the gold sparkle finish, which appears original. It appears the Buddy Rich Super Classic was not available in gold sparkle?

Dang. Nice snare. That will clean up nicely. I have a blue sparkle just a couple of years younger than that one. Yours would go great with my gold sparkle kit........just saying...........ya know.....................thought I might mention it.
