once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Ya, it's not exactly the "Ringo" finish, but I love it.

Ha, but it does make it convenient when you flip the 13 where the12 would had been.

I played the kit today, got them tuned and my initial take was they sound very much like the vintage Ludwig kits I've owned. They did have a better stick response, probably due to the sharper edges.

Here's some pictures I took today.

Beautiful kit Johnnyringo Cool1, congrats, is that a regular jazz fest?, it looks a little deeper than 5", maybe the pic angle?

Impressive how tight your drum marks are on the center of the heads

Oh I just noticed that snare is 10 lug, what snare is that?

That a 6.5x14 Ludwig Classic Maple snare, probably from the 90's. The Evans heads were already on the kit when I bought them, I'll be switching them out for coated Ambassadors.

I'm going to ask this hoping not to derail the thread.

Are the drums at your practice space? If so, how does it work as far as volume and echo? Does the irregular surface of the metal sheeting help cut it down? Asking cause my band has kicked around the idea of using a storage unit as a practice space but I would've thought we would need to put a bit of work into deadening the sound of the space but maybe not.
