Ludwig Canister throne

I would absolutely love to have a silver sparkle cannister throne like the one in the picture. For some reason I had never realized those thrones had badges. I also wonder if there are some type of wood cannisters used by companies for shipping parts or items that you could possibly salvage and make one. The current ones made by Ludwig are a little pricey.

Of course, I don't know either I'll contact them Monday to get some prices for us, I've still got to make sure this is the correct fit for what we need.

Ok, so here is where Myself and Poppy are now, First off let me give a big!!! shout out to Poppy the color match on this restro job is almost dead spot on!!!! we are sooo lucky to have such a diverse membership here on this forum. I try to support our network as much as possible, here is a good example of just that. poppy is a full time pro Auto trim and upholstery shop and he's a drummer who understands what you as a vintage restorer are after in a finished product!! ok I'm done!!LoLoLoLo

look at the first pic the throne top on the left is a 100% original 40's WFL. the throne top on the right is the Wfl Canister throne top that poppy just reupholstered Wow!!! I'm showing this first off without the mounting hardware, then I'll post some finished pics, I still don't have the very front latch yet? The last pic is what it looked like before we started on this project. This was an improper reupholster job someone had done many year's before!!

Well hell, I covered the bottom of the seat and the edge of the vinyl is showing. I thought it sat down inside a lip from the trim around the throne.

Get a red marksalot and color the edge of the vinyl and it wont show so much. The old seat didnt have anything on bottom, and the tacks were all uneven and looked unprofessional to me. 1st pic is my bottom and second is the original bottom. I know it's hard to resist, but no funny remarks on my bottom! LoLoLoLo

Im pretty sure the hardware on the original throne isnt original. It looks like someone added a bracket under the cover and retacked it to be able to sit the top on a newer throne stand
