Happy Hollidays everyone! Hopefully this post finds you resting up from yesterday’s airing of grievances and feats of strength. I know I am a little sore from being pinned (again) by my 80 year old Dad. I am looking here for some help pricing a kit...
Ludwig round badge kit that dates at right around 1980.
12,13,18,22 chromed stainless wrap over 6ply maple
Condition details...
Wrap has a few minor scratches, and some overall “sparkly-ness” but looks perfect from a few feet away. Rivets are all right and tight.
Dampeners are in perfect shape.
All badges are in great shape and show serial numbers that indicate it was likely ordered as a set.
Lugs, claws, and mounts show no pitting whatsoever.
Reso side rims have been replaced and new tension rods used on them.
Bearing edges are great and drums are round.
New rubber feet on spurs and floor tom legs.
Bass hoops were sanded and painted and now look like new.
NOS chrome dot heads on toms.
I don’t really want to get rid of it, but a friend has been hounding me, and to quote my wife, I have “too many drums.” I find dealing with friends difficult. I want to give him a good deal, but if I price it way below market, then I might as well be giving him a gift worth hundreds...he’s a good guy, I’d gladly pick up his check for wings and beer, but not someone I’d normally give an expensive gift to.
I have a number in mind, but there are not too many recent online sales to compare to. What do you think? Thanks in advance for your help!
