Ludwig B/O Black Panther kit

Loading...

Hi folks,

There is an interesting kit for sale here locally...

Blue/Olive badge 13,14,18,22 in black panther wrap.

https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/msg/d/vintage-ludwig-black-panther/6744415682.html

With the winter weather setting in around here I may need a clean-up project. I bet that 18" floor tom would sound awesome! I'd love to hear any thoughts you have about the price, condition, etc.

Thanks!

The icing is the 18" floor and maybe the 14"

Looks to be in nice shape for panther.

Price is ok not a steal.

very nice kit and shells.

It would go nice with my 12/13/16/and 22 but don't worry I don't live anywhere near.

Good luck

I think it's a good deal, especially with the snare. I doubt that will last long, or it wouldn't where I'm at.

I think the price is pretty good. He mentions Acrolite. That is not an Acrolite in the pics.

Odd that one of the rack toms has a Granitone interior. Was that common (or at least not unheard of) for those particular shells? Anytime I see Granitone, I immediatley think Ludwig "Standards".

Not bad, especially if it does come with an Acro.

Black Panthers came in both clear maple and granitone interiors. I have both. In Ludwig's "infinite wisdom" of those years, they'd even sometimes send out both interior types on the same set of drums. LOL

Did you get it Mr.Toast?

I see it is not on craigslist anymore.

Hi Wayne,

Alas, I did not buy the Black Panther...it was super cool (especially that 18" floor tom) but I much prefer smaller kits. It was a good enough deal that I considered buying it to flip, but didn't pull the trigger. I have not seen it on eBay or Reverb, so I'm hoping it found a good home and will be making LOUD music here locally for many years to come.
