I just got this Ludwig tom. Black and white badge, brownish speckled interior. 12x13. What is the shell made of? I'm only seeing 5 plys.

Thats a Rocker II series drum that someone has fitted classic lugs to. They are the same boltup pattern as the Rocker II lugs. The shell is a maple/poplar shell. Inner plies poplar outer ply ans innermost ply are maple with the granitone coating on the inside.

Ludwig Dude; Thanks. It's a little dinged up, but nothing major. $30 to my door. Building a micro kit out of a 14x16 Ludwig 3 ply concert tom, this one for the floor, and I have a Luddy 8x10 coming. Fun little project. Would love to find a downbeat snare to complete the kit. I love having all you "experts" to call on.
