It's with much regret that i put my Ludwig Big Beat kit from '78 up for sale. I will try to mention everything about the kit as best i can, but if i missed anything, please feel free to ask. This is the first time i post a full drum kit for sale up here, so please forgive any ignorance or errors.

I restored and detailed the kit all around, including lug interiors, tension rods, rims, etc. Hoops were restored by previous owner with some type of coating that seems to be like sealant of some sort, but is now definitely a lot more protected and solid than it's original state. Hoop inlays are non original from Precision Drum which the original owner installed.

These are the 6 ply maple shells that can destroy ear drums and cause fractured ribs ! Yes Sir Tone controls have been removed, but i have them all.

Issues--These are minor and in no way affects the drum's integrity or tuning.

-One BD hoop seems to have been "shaved", most probably to repair a ply that unglued or cracked, (which explains the special coating on booth hoops to protect from any further damage), giving the illusion of warping, but once the hoop is placed on a straight table, does not wobble at all and sits nicely on the drum head's collar.

-Bottom floor tom hoop has rust and pitting but not visible if placed on bottom, and is still in decent shape.

-A few very minor scuffs and scratches on the drums, but are so insignificant and minuscule that they are visible only on close inspection.

-One lug has a damaged/cracked (in half) screw insert, but actually still works. I replaced it with an ATLAS mount, but will be included, as will be all extra parts, screws, washers, bolts, nuts, etc.

-One of the modern bass drum spur brackets has been threaded,but has been replaced with another one, original to the era, and i ordered extra brackets from a guy here in Canada who had a bunch of spare parts that i wanted to get, just in case it happened again.

And that's about it. Bearing edges are perfect. I applied a special wood protector sealant that's used for high end furniture to protect the shells interiors. (Smell nice too ! Yes Sir)

Original tom mount is included, as well as a brand new, heavy duty double braced Ludwig ATLAS Standard double tom mount, which can be used to mount on the kick, or off the kick on it's original base.
