Ludwig BD spur replacement

Loading...

Does anyone know of an aftermarket (Gibraltar, etc.) set of bass drum legs that will fit a 70's Vistalite 24" kick WITHOUT drilling holes?? I have the acceptors, but not the curved legs. I haven't come across any used ones for less than $50 which is more than I'd like to spend on them since they don't seem that good to begin with.

I figure I'd try to get more modern legs that hold up well without drilling so I can put the original ones back on...not to mention saving me the stress and overall hassle of drilling the drum.

This is part of a restoration project where I was given a blue 7 piece Vista that was painted black on the inside.

Are you talking about the curved spurs?

You're going to spend over $50 for an after-market set of decent spurs...then the drum would not be original....IMHO I would track down the original spurs.

I have a set on a Maple Ludwig kit from the seventies (24" bass) and they work great!

yeah, the curved spurs.

I'm not really concerned with the drum police coming if I don't have original ones on there. I just want to know if I have an option for some more modern, beefier legs. I don't want to drill holes should I want to return the kit to its original state.

thanks!

I'm not sure if anyone makes a after-market spur in that style. I can look.
