Ludwig Bass Drum Hoop Question????

I have a Vistalite kit and I wanted to ask a question about the wood bass drum hoops. First, they appear to be a little warped, can I still use them? Also, I noticed that on one side is kinda round while the other side is flat. Which side goes against the drum head? Where can I find some used hoops? I need black with a Silver sparkle strip. Thanks

Flat side goes against the head...rounded side faces outward away from the drum.

Warped rims can work if they aren't too twisted.

You can get any number of custom makers to make you a new old style hoop with inlay. I don't know how much it would cost. Or, you can check Ebay. Maybe even someone on this forum has one. You could post in the "Wanted" section.

Prostix.. what size bass drum do you have? 22" black and silver on Craigslist.. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/msg/902987486.html

Jim,

Correct. It's just a typical Ludwig hoop with the inlay.
