Ludwig and Ludwig

Loading...

After cleaning out my attic after a move, I came across to old tube-lugged snare drums. They are both metal, with one having a rib in the center and having Ludwig and Ludwig stamped on the single-flanged hoops. Where can I find info on Ludwig and Ludwig to precisely date and catalogue these drums-it is sketchy on the sites I have found. Thanks all.Car Driving2

Update: I am new to posting-I tried to upload a photo of the drum, but the forum's file size max of 191 KB is much too low for my camera-any suggestions?

I think the info is hard to determine exactly what you have...

The size of the drums, the number of lugs etc...

Also with a photo or two we can help you much better...

The Ludwig & Ludwig rim stamp shows up in Rob Cook's, The Ludwig Book (ISBN 1-888408-09-X) on page 174 and indicates the drum was made in Elkhart Ind. during the 30's.

Maybe dig around on http://www.ludwigdrummer.com/ and see what you find... looks like $99.00 gets you a couple CD's of catalogs.. might be cheaper to put a picture up here.

They sound like some nice old Ludwigs drum you discovered.. congrats!

Not a Guru... just interested..
