Can anyone help ID the era and value of these 2 drums? Guy is asking $550 for both. Good deal?

I think that's a bit high, considering that at least one has extra holes, and both have fairly rough finishes.

+1 what Rocketman said. I'd start an offer at $350 and top out at $400 for the pair. No more than that. It's going to take time and $ to put those back in good condition.

Show the guy this thread! He'll see what other drummers think the drums are worth. Never hurts to give a seller a little shot of reality price/value-wise.

Funny, I graduated from George Washington High School back in the 60's. I wouldn't mind having that first one out of nostalgia. If you want to split them, I'm willing to go halfies with you on the total price (if you can snag the pair for $400.) but I want the 'GW high school' snare.

I'm not in it. John's gonna reminisce with the Leedy. That thing'll sound good.... eventually.
