ludwig 6.5" vistalite supersensitive snare-- smoke

Loading...

hey guys,

just picked up this 70's?? ludwig 6.5 vistalite smoke snare. the thing that is most intriguing is that I've never seen a supersensitive vistalite.

there is a tiny chip in the resonant side bearing the size of a bb, but it won't have any effect on the drum. other than that, no cracks or scratches. it's in great condition.

any ideas on what it might be worth?

Hey Daniel, With the small chip on the shell the drum i would say is in Not great condition. The chip could turn into a crack down the side of the drum,it looks like the drums edge will have to be re-worked..With that said i would say if you can get 125.00-150.00 you would be doing well..Mikey

SS Vistas are pretty rare. I have a 5" in clear. See one on eBay once every 1-2 years. 6.5" is even more uncommon.

I'd take the shell to a local plastics shop & have them fill in the chip. Would not be concerned about further "what if" problems.

The market's tough right now, but regular 5" Vista snares equipped with P-85s still fetch $200-300. If you aren't in a hurry that drum would sell on the Bay for 3-5 bills, easy. Polish it up with Nexus and it will look like new.
