Hunting down a kit for a friend. His heart aches for a kit that got away. It's a Maple finish 6 ply Luddy kit...5 piece (22, 12, 13, 16). If you have a line on one, let me know. It's a gift for a very special drummer.

I think this is the one that Fish is talking about. This guy always has super clean kits for good prices. I could also check this kit out for you, as I am always in that area. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/msg/1743921176.html

I appreciate it. That's a very sweet gesture.

Well ... those drums appear to be 3 ply. While very nice, they are not 6 ply. That would put them out of the running. Dang. I'm still on the hunt.

That's well worth it but there's something off about the bass. Looks like aftermarket claws. I like that one. Steve likes the 22 bass. He's a Big Beat guy.

The muffler above the badge on a 6-ply strikes me as odd as well.....usually the late 3-ply drums were like that, 6-ply not so much. I'd ask to get some pics of the interiors before venturing out to see them......

I have an all original kit, on it the 12" and 13" toms have the muffler above the badge. I have seen others like that also.
