Thanks for the correction. I'm still OK with the time line that you state since early 70's Slingerland drums are among my favorites because they are pretty much the same as my favorite 60's Slingies. I used the late 60's--early 70's from an earlier chart by Dr. Wenck that placed serial number ranges along the diagonal line. I am pleased that my red/white/blue drums were made several years before the bicentennial madness. I suppose that, if the multi-band color scheme were replicated today, it would be done like the salesman sample Ludwigs. If I'm not wrong, the various colors separated by black lines were printed on the back side of the clear plastic top ply that was laminated to the bottom ply containing silver aluminum foil flakes.
