Ludwig 1968 Drum Kit Configuration?

Hi Guys,

Last night I picked up a really nice Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl Drum kit. The drum sizes are: 13" Tom (Serial # 582716), 16" Floor (Serial # 581323) and a 20" Bass Drum (Serial # 582847). All the serial numbers date 1968. The toms and bass all have a shiny maple interiors but only the bass drum is stamped June 4,1968. My questions is, what kind of configuration is this? Shouldn't the bass drum be a 22". Maybe it was ordered like this? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Prostix

The bass drum could be ordered in both the 20" and 22" size.

If you're asking whether or not you could order a kit that way, then the answer is "yes.".

If you are asking if there was a name for a kit with this configuration, then the answer is "no."

I wanted to know if this kit was just put togther or a factory kit. So, after reading the posts, I guess this kit would be a factory matched kit?

Yes, it very well could have come from the factory that way.
