Any tips on how to tighten a loose Ludwig keystone badge grommet to stop the badge from spinning around the place?
Loose Badge
take head of drum, place drum badge side down on a non metallic surface, wood, plastic. etc. place a steel ball bearing in badge grommet and tap with hammer to flare the grommet sides out, just enough to tighten up badge.

That's using the ol noodle. Thanks for the advise.
Take a head off and get a 2" bolt that will fit through the hole, 2 washers and a nut. Put one washer on the bolt and stick the bolt in the hole. Put on the other washer and nut, then tighten gently. This will press the lip of the grommet, forcing it to splay and grip the badge and shell tight. Otherwise the ball bearing idea is good, but I don't tend to have any of those lying about! :)
Oh, be careful because you might swivel the badge out of line too. Try to keep a firm hold of it while you tighten the nut so it doesn't go out of whack.

I don't tend to have ball bearings lying around either. Nuts and bolts it is. Tanks for this tip.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
