Looks can be deceiving

I scored this kit - a TJ Percussion. It looked like it has brass lug inserts, the shells actually have reinforcement rings and the lugs looked like big thick Tama-esque tank parts!

Well, while it was still a good deal, the lugs left much to be desired. At least they function, so long as it is not torqued on I suppose.

I just thought I would report this discovery so we know.

TJ Percussion - not sure if this is MIJ, MIT, MIC ?? Likely MIA though.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Modern MIT drums. My first snare was a TJ Percussion. Nothing great, many of the toms had 4 lugs. Saw a few kits locally like that. But from your description, maybe they made some nicer models as well that I'm not aware of.

18 Kits & 40+ snares..
