Looking for Royal Star parts

Loading...

Hi!

If you check out the pictures below, you can see my Royal Star drum kit. And believe it or not, these drums don't sounds bad at all to be Japanese drums.

Now you want to replace some worn parts.

1/a snare drum strainer. If you check out the Japanese pages on Vintage Drum Guides, you will see the original strainer.

2/ some bass drum spurs.

3/ a original cymbal arm to mount on the bass drum. I don't have an illustration of the part.

If you know something about this drums, you can help me to find some parts or you have them for sale, let me know!!!

Cheers,

Christophe

For who doesn't know yet. The catalog/history pages of the STAR drums on the TAMA website were removed lately. Now I find some copies of those pages I took in those days.

So if you compare my drums with the catalog, you see that my version isn't mentioned on those pages. My drums (with the black badge) are the previous version of those with the round silver badge.

BD = 22"x14" with 20 lugs

FT = 16"x16" with 16 lugs with 3 legs

TT = 13"x9" with 12 lugs mounted on the BD with a Rail Consolette tom-tom holder

SN = 14"x5" with 16 lugs

All shells are made of 9-ply Luan wood (Phillippine Mahogany), inside painted grey.

All shells were re-wrap in a rosewood wrap finish. On the BD the heavy chrome hoops were replaced by wood hoops.

All other parts are original.

Like I told in a previous post I want to replace some worn parts

1) the snare drum strainer.

2) the bass drum spurs. To be specific, I need the mounts, not the legs.

3) REVOL-O-MATIC cymbal holder, which is mounted on the bass drum. The mount is still there on my bass drum, like you can see on my picture. But I need the cymbal holder itself. (you can see on page3 of the Star Catalog below)

I hope some people really can help me out! The drum kit may be not the best of the bests! To me it means too much!

Can't help you with the parts, but I think your catalog is still up. Check here: http://www.tamadrum.co.jp/anniversary/page.php?cat_id=8&year=1972

Hello,

The parts you are looking for are extremely rare ...

Snare strainer/ part:

My best guess: look for ebay, the - complete - snare appears from time to time there (especially in the Belgium/ French and/or German section).

Bass drum parts:

Shortly, a single bass drum was sold on German ebay ... Would have been good for your spare parts. Keep on searching here for it as well.

Concerning the cymbal arm: this one I've never seen separately anywhere ...

Anyway: good luck - and be patient with the search!

Greetings - Ralf from Germany

Hi Mike!

I did send you a mail the last time. Strange you didn't get anything back from me. I hoop you get mail from me this time. Here's an duplicate of the mail I sent you.

Anyway, thanks alot for helping me out so far.

Is it possible to send me some pictures from the parts? I don't want to be difficult be so I can see first what i get. I hope you'll understand.

Presuming that I would like to buy these parts from you, how much is your price for the parts with shipping?

How could we arrange this bussiness? How can we both be sure you get my money right and I get my parts right?

Cheers

Christophe

Hello !

I have a Star (round badge) kit from around -67 in fibre gold pearl wrap.

I´m also looking for a cymbal stand for the bass drum.

Your pictures from your set and the catalouge is very helpful to me because I´ve never seen the arm before- just the mount on my set.

If you get the arm any pictures of it would help me. I´m thinking of getting one made - or at least converting some existing arm with a clamp.

I suppose it´s the same construction as the mont for the tom-tom- but bigger ?

God luck to you and your Stars

Hi,

These posts are more than three years old, Sir ;)

You will find pics of this rare STAR cymbal arm in this forum, if you use the 'Search' button. ;)
