The Ludwig(?) canister throne completes that high-zoot vintage look. Very nice drum set.

It is in fact a Ludwig canister...my first one and I believe it came from Dale as well. I also snagged the Zildjian cymbal that was also a part of Dale's stuff...along with various wood blocks, some old Ludwig brushes, and lots of old sticks.

The sticks were what got me extremely curious about Dale. A trap case back then was relatively common for regional bands (so I have been told) and painting it was a good identifier of who it belonged to. What did it take to have your name on a stick? From the same friend, I purchased some WFL sticks, one ProMark Louie Bellson stick, one Camco Eddie Knight stick, and 6 pairs from "Little Dale" that are also Camco. It led me to believe Dale may have been a Camco "endorsed" player and may have been in a catalog or something. I have been looking but no luck. Still gonna follow up on the union thing cause that was a good idea. Also going to call my friend that I bought all of this from and see if he knows Dale.

PS....if you look closely in one pic you can see my friends champaign sparkle Camcos. As the story goes he got those when Camco first opened their shop in Oak Lawn. Eddie told him they were the first champaign sparkle set that rolled off the line.
