This is the sellers description I am also attaching pictures of the kit :

For sale is a 1969/1970 Ludwig 3-ply maple/poplar/maple drum kit with re-rings. It’s in a hip ‘Jelly Bean’ finish, and includes:

- 9x13” tom tom, Blue/Olive badge, clear interior, in original gold sparkle wrap (1970)

- 16x16” Ludwig Standard floor tom (same shell, different hardware and badge), granitone interior, in a green sparkle re-wrap (1969)

- 14x22” bass drum, Blue/Olive badge, clear interior, in original red sparkle wrap (1970)

Comes with a 22” Hard Case road case w/ wheels. $800 obo No trades

What do you guys think? is it worth $800 or worth buying??

I'm sure they sound great. The jellybean concept is pretty neat. I think you can do a lot better for 800 bucks though. A matching original kit would give you much better resale down the road as well, if needed.

Thanks for the information! How much do you think I should pay for them? I don't really know what they're worth.

I agree, you can do a lot better for $800.

The 16x16 floor tom appears to be original Aqua Mist and not a re-wrap. It looks like it has the typical "band fading".

I have a feeling he will not be happy with that price but I would like this set so what are the reasons I can give for why this kit is not worth $800 and only half of that . Thanks

The floor tom appears to be a "LUDWIG STANDARD" judging by the lugs and the faded blue mist (more looking teal)and the badge is not shown in the pic but it would not be like the 70's blue/ olive badge shown on small tom and bass drum. This leads me to believe this is a mix of orphans. here is a pic of a 13" rack tom Ludwig standard compare lugs & color

I'd pass. "Hip jellybean" in seller speak just means "bunch of orphans thrown together at an over inflated price"....

Don't fall for it. Decent drums but $800 can buy a very good matched kit. Unless you're pining for some orphans...
