Looking for cheap kit

Loading...

I'm interested in finding a CHEAP Japanese kit to play and restore. I'd like Luan Mahogany, 13, 16, 22 preferably playable not needing a HUGE amount of work as this is my first project. Anybody know of anything available or maybe what I should be looking for?

Hello, JSW07!

I have two vintage MIJ kits for sale. Both the Supremes and Tempos (Star stencils) are in mint condition. The only trouble is that unless you live in Southern Ontario, Canada, the shipping would be outrageous.

The good new is that I live in Manitoba! May I see a picture of these kits? How much are you asking?

Hello again!

Manitoba is still a long way away, my friend! Since I am basically computer illiterate and have no idea how to post pictures, I can only tell you that both of my kits are in mint condition. Because of my O.C.D. tendencies, I go over every mm. of each drum until it is as perfect as humanly possible. That includes various rust removers (NO steel wool!), Turtle Wax Chrome and Rust Remover, Simi-Chrome Polish and Carnauba wax. Everything is hand polished. I search and find parts if need be. I will buy no knock-offs! I will not even sell any drums or percussion parts unless I am certain that they will go to a good owner. I baby them that much. I really wish you were closer. You would not be disappointed. I hope you can find something nearer. Best of luck in your quest!

LOL are you telling me that I am not allowed to buy them because I live in Manitoba? What if I am willing to pay the shipping?

How much are you asking for them?

Hello, again x2!

Naw, from what I've heard, guys from Manitoba are okay! It's just that I have never shipped a drum or percussion part out in my life (well once a logo and a rim for free because the people were stand-up gentlemen). That's probably why I have no more room left in this little house for more drums! I've sold a few duplicate pieces locally but, never an entire kit. It would probably be less money if you could somehow get here. My sister who is quite versed in computers is willing to sell my drums on Kijiji. I have been unwilling because it is hard for me to part with them. If you can get here, great! I can describe each drum to you in advance. if you don't think my kits are mint, I'll help you out on the gas mileage. I will take no less than $250,00 for each kit. I don't need the money and like I say, I am very attached to all of my drums. Honestly, you might be better off looking locally. At any rate, it's good meeting another friend on this great forum!
